Hello, I'm a complete newbie when it comes to OpenSSL's internals and cryptographic standards, and this is my first post to the list, so please forgive my ignorance.
I was searching for information on whether OpenSSL had any random number generators that complied with NIST 800-90, and I came across a few messages on this list that mentioned that it did have such a module somewhere. However, the thread ended with a question asking where those modules could be found, which had no answer. So, I'm asking it again. Is there a NIST 800-90 compliant RNG module for OpenSSL? If so, where could I find it? Or is this module that was mentioned the third-party implementation that was linked a few messages previous (http://henric.info/random/) ? I did find the "FIPS Canister" module, which is supposed to comply with FIPS 140-2, but, honestly, I'm not familiar enough with either standard to know whether they are related or not. Would the random number generator from the FIPS canister (AES-based) be the one I'm looking for? -- Bira http://compexplicita.wordpress.com http://compexplicita.tumblr.com ______________________________________________________________________ OpenSSL Project http://www.openssl.org Development Mailing List [email protected] Automated List Manager [email protected]
