Cannot build openssl when the console standard output is redirected (see issue

Looks like it is not really "bad" perl, in any case, I've tried to build with
activeperl and strawberry with the same problem. I went over pl files and
changed the asm generation from writing to STDOUT to writing directly to file.

IMHO, my solution proposed on stackoverflow is reasonable, at least it solves
the problem. Kindly consider including it in future releases.
