Hi Richard, Thank you for following up. I think we are on the same page regarding directories.
The API call involved here was SSL_add_dir_cert_subjects_to_stack, which failed on windows. The reason I have the LP_find_file specifically skip directories is that directories cannot be opened as files on windows so when the above function uses SSL_add_file_cert_subjects_to_stack, it gets a failure opening the file. On *nix where readdir() is used, a directory entry that is itself a directory is benignly skipped since it clearly does not contain a cert. I agree that it is up to an application to recurse into a directory tree structure.
