"ANY PRIVATE KEY" should give you a hint.  selfsigned.pem does not
contain the private key.  The solution is the following:

openssl pkcs12 -export -in selfsigned.pem -out selfsigned.p12 -name \
"selfsigned" -inkey key.pem
