I found my problem. I was sure I had done everything right, but couldn't get a connection using https.
Found out I needed to open port 443 in IPCHAINS. Voila !!! Anyone running a semi-standard installation of Linux RedHat 7.1+ will have this issue, unless they chose "No Firewall" during the installation.
