ANY open mailing list is a potential source of spam/virus email. It's the one downfall to the venue. I haven't checked yet, but if I got this, it was caught by SpamAssassin. I never bother complaining about these things in open lists, because I understand the need for some lists to be open. Check out SA (www.spamassassin.org). It's free and very effective.
