I have the same problem ...
./Configure --prefix=/opt shared threads zlib-dynamic --openssldir=/opt/ssl linux-pentium
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/work/Projects/CVS/work-openssl> make tests
/usr/bin/perl: error while loading shared libraries: /libssl.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
make: *** [rehash.time] Error 127
