I have a need to create X509 Requests that will be authenticated by an external CA. In creating the request do I need to sign it?
I also have seen something strange that I am trying to figure out. In the request I place a 'subjectAltName' extension. If I convert the request to a string and display it I can see the extension. After I sign it the subjectAltName extension doesn't show up again. Is this to be expected?
