Hi,

Your browser is unzipping the archive on the fly. The file you are getting is the TAR and not the gzipped TAR.
Try clicking "save as" on the link to see if you get the real gzipped file.

By the way, all the ckecksums on the page are correct.

Could it be the checksums on the source download page (http://www.openssl.org/source/) are wrong ?
