This is a huge improvement! Some of the previous drafts looked more like
a generic bird and less like an owl.

I have a suggestion on how this might be more owl-like. If you look at
real owl faces [1], you will see that their eyes are typically yellow,
and they often have a white circle around the eyes (black pupil, yellow
eye, black/white circle of feathers). I think that we could add a yellow
ring around the black pupil, and possibly accentuate the ears (since
owls often have white tufts on their ears).

I whipped up a quick example of what I'm talking about, it's attached
(hopefully it will survive the mailing list).
