Jay- Your faith in the ability of everyone to get concrete ideas down before the summit is a joy to behold - I'm a little more cynical :-) I think it'll happen in Paris.
1) Gantt specific work. Your list of BPs is great, if we can come to an implementation plan for those on Thurs. I will be ecstatic. 2) Replies to this thread on cross project requirements would be wonderful. Let's see what we can get. -- Don Dugger "Censeo Toto nos in Kansa esse decisse." - D. I'd prefer we had much of that done by the time the summit rolls around, thus the focus on the various blueprints that involve the resource tracker and scheduler. Please do review these all: resource object models: https://review.openstack.org/#/c/127609/ request spec: https://review.openstack.org/#/c/127610/ select_destinations(): https://review.openstack.org/#/c/127612/ detach service from compute: https://review.openstack.org/#/c/126895/ isolate scheduler db: https://review.openstack.org/#/c/89893/ Note that the last one I have proposed to break down into further more specific blueprints that cover the aggregate and instance group DB calls separately... > On the Nova summit etherpad: > > https://etherpad.openstack.org/p/kilo-nova-summit-topics > > there is a scheduler section but it's not very cross-project focused. > I would like a cross project session on Tues. so we can get > requirements from other projects on what they need from a common > scheduler. The remainder of the TC members are voting today on those cross-project sessions and ttx will take it from there. > 1) Cinder 2) Containers 3) Neutron 4) Ceilometer 5) Heat > > are specific projects that have scheduling requirements (either to use > the scheduler or provide input to it) that they need and it would be > really good to find out exactly what they need. As I mentioned in the previous response, I would greatly prefer if the Gantt cross-project session was actually NOT a "we want XYZ from the scheduler" session. I'd prefer to have an etherpad already containing all those requirements from people before the summit and use the summit time to discuss prioritization and implementation/design proposals for actually getting the work done. > PS: Note that Sylvain and I are both on vacation next week so we'll > have to miss the Gantt meeting. Me and Paul will ponder the vast expanse of time and space together and then try to unclutter the resource tracker. :) -jay > -- Don Dugger "Censeo Toto nos in Kansa esse decisse." - D.
