Let me see if I understand correctly…
You have large images you want to import into glance, I assume they are RAW 
format. You could use `qemu-img convert -O qcow2 {raw image} {compressed file}` 
to convert them to a much smaller size. Why do you need to use volumes for? If 
you’re using cinder, the image would need to already exist in glance before you 
can use it for a volume.
