All,

Isn't this exciting! :) A round of applause to Matt and the team who've been working hard over the past couple months to get our first mid-cycle ops meetup in the EU happening.

You'll note that there's a token 10 pound fee for registration for this one. This is based on our previous discussions around registration costs. We're implementing it now to help us manage people who register but don't turn up (the last meetup was pretty bad in this regard). If the ticket price would prevent you from attending, please get in touch off-list :)

Hi all,

Thanks to those who made it to the recent summit in Tokyo. It was a
fantastic week, and many of you are excited to get started on talking
about the next ops meetup. We'll start a new thread on one for the USA
soon, but in an exciting twist, the first one of the year will be in the
EU !

If you've not been before, this event is aimed at giving us a place to
get together, swap best practices, ideas and give feedback on the good
and bad parts of OpenStack Ops. We also have a number of working groups
making concrete progress in improving certain areas.

So, if you run an OpenStack cloud, please consider joining us in
Manchester, UK on February 15th and 16th. For this event, we’ve
introduced a small charge on tickets to try and reduce the number of no
shows, which has been a big issue on previous Ops Meetups. Lunch and
refreshments will be provided on both days, and there will also be an
evening reception on the 15th courtesy of the OpenStack Foundation. A
big Thank You to our sponsors so far : Canonical, Codethink, Midokura
and DataCentred.

All the information on travel and hotels is on the EventBrite page, and
if anyone has any questions please feel free to contact me or Tom Fifield.

These are user driven events, and we need your input to put together the
content - below is a link to propose session ideas. Please - when you
are suggesting sessions in the etherpad below please try and phrase them
in a way that will result in things happening afterward, rather than
just ranting !

Please propose session ideas on:

The room allocations are still being worked out, but the current
thinking is that we will have general sessions in the morning and
working groups in the afternoon across both Monday and Tuesday.

More as it comes, and as always, further information about ops meetups

and notes from the past can be found on the wiki @:

Finally, don't forget to register ASAP!
