Not so, if you are using KVM then block migration is also an option, and it seems to be documented in the trunk docs now too. See: http://docs.openstack.org/trunk/openstack-compute/admin/content/configuring-migrations.html The note about compatible XenServer hypervisors might be a little confusing - it does not mean block migration only works with specific versions of Xen, it means for it to work with Xen your Xen must support "Storage XenMotion".
