It looks like you didn't accurately follow the instructions at 
http://en.opensuse.org/Xgl

1.) Please use the Xgl and compiz packages that are delivered with Beta4 
(the links in the wiki might be outdated).

2.) Follow the instructions one by one -- e.g. you obviously didn't 
restart X11 after you installed Xgl and changed DISPLAYMANAGER_XSERVER in 
/etc/sysconfig/displaymanager -- did you do that at all?
