Yes and not. 
 
The GOME CD is still oversized and they look how to kick out some stuff that 
is not essential. Probably good workaround might be what you did, but 
integrated in the system as default, ie. additional repositories should be 
included withut asking for any manual intervention, so that user can find 
missing stuff by simply going online.
