Dear All, Just as a heads up, the Forums Team has approved my submission for the creation of a Forum for Portuguese. I've battled a lot around this and made a huge group of friends in the process of such campaign. It's going to happen, I've got the official answer by Jim Henders minutes ago.
This will be a valuable asset for the future of the Portuguese Community in Portugal and I hope it will benefit our future projects as well. The usage of this forums and the staff appointed will be handled on the 11th of December in our Christmas Dinner. I also leave a formal invitation (a subject I've spoken with Carlos Ribeiro in the past) to the Brazilian Ambassadors to pick 2 Moderators to join our team and work together. I would love to see all the Brazilian events posted on the Events forum and anything more they want to share. I would suggest that one of this moderators could be someone who has the same position on susebr.org forums and that can work as a link between the two resources that eventually serve the 'same' community in a wider spectrum. My second victory for openSUSE ;) Special Thanks to: - Carlos Gonçalves, which has been a great supporter and the person who builded the Portuguese Community; - Carlos Ribeiro, which has been an awesome conflict moderator during the active discussion of this topic in the opensuse-pt mailing list; - Jim Henders, for the oustanding help on this process and kindness in providing all the information and answering a ton of weird question; - openSUSE Community! - Novell and all the openSUSE sponsors. The forums will have their official opening for the 1st of January 2011 (maybe earlier one or two days because we are dependent on other people). As a side note, we will comply with the current forum rules and work to our best that the policies are enforced to be the best of our knowledge to keep the environment sane and healthy.
