Just to clarify, so there's no more question on it:

S.u.S.E & openSUSE have used a Chameleon as the logo for quite some
time.  The chameleon is named 'Geeko', a portmanteu of 'gecko' (another
type of lizard) and 'geek'.  But, the mascot has never been a gecko.
