Well, it's not job of the upstream maintainer to take care for
technical details of packaging for each imaginable distribution. 
If the packagers of the distribution don't care for this, it's 
not your fault. Upstream maintainers should care for bugs and code 
not packaging.

Looking at the project, it seems it has some dependencies on
software which cannot be included in openSUSE because of legal problems
(e.g. mplayer and lame). So this would rather be a candidate for Packman 
(http://packman.links2linux.de/).
