I think this is a great idea.
And maybe not just for temp translations, but also common image storage.

The file, gallery, etc. exists according to
http://en.opensuse.org/OpenSUSE_Infrastructure
though file.opensuse.org is not public.
Translations should be the new one, and really needed to bring order on
en.opensuse.org.
