Has startx quite for everyone? Searching for the subject string on this group's mailing list archive produces nul. Subject line is the first thing noticed when startx in runlevel 3 fails in 11.4 or Tumbleweed and .xsession-errors is dumped to tty. No such failure occurs doing init 5. /etc/permissions.local has "/usr/bin/Xorg root:root 4711" uncommented and 'SuSEconfig --module permissions' run. What's it take to make startx work again?
