You know it means "OSS" for the thing it does not have closed source stuff.

But rest assured, all binary software on the box will get security releases over
time.

The box MP3 support is RealPlayer based, which will get an update in the
next days, so you will get your wish in this regard. Perhaps someone should
then just release amarok-helix and gstreamer-foo-helix too.
