If the object in question is the sun, then: a) The sun pre-dates the Sun Microsystems by several billion years, hence the astrophysical object really cannot be said to have been named after a twenty-something computer company. b) Sun Microsystems was named after an early Unix networking project at Stanford and is widely thought to stand for "Stanford University Network."
