Please read my announcement on opensuse-announce with the roadmap. The first boxes were supposed to arrive on the 4th of October and so we made the following thursday the release date to stick with the thursday tradition. Seems that production delivered the first boxes for a few vendors earlier in Europe than planned - and it might be that the US ones come later than planned :-( Btw I still need to master two DVDs on the 4th :-(.
