Yes it could, and ultimately this will probably be the solution we
implement.  I need to be sure I'm not having finger problems before
someone cracks open the installer script and starts tinkering.  As it
is with all software, if you change something, something else might
break or not work exactly the way you expect... the installer is
working fine right now...

I guess it's a simple case of me not understanding why it works fine
in my previous 9.3 install (in all our 9.3 installs actually) and not
in 10.0... why I see a man page for compress, but the app itself is
not there where I expect it in 10.0 (in /usr/bin ).
