Is that so? By listing a device in fstab, the hal mechanism for
automounting that device is dissabled? Now, that's very interesting.

Because I have /dev/hdc and /dev/dvd in the fstab, but gnome keeps asking 
if I want to do anything with the dvd I have just placed in the drive.
