Hi,
mine is the same as yours:
# rpm -q audacity
audacity-1.3.2-0.pm.beta
The Audio I/O is set to use the correct output device trough ALSA and the same
applies to the input device...
Anyway, by now the only way I have to make it work is using aoss ...

Martin

I just downloaded/installed Audacity from Packman. When it first started the
first surprise was: no sound!
So I checked the Audio I/O devices to be on the sure side. Still nothing...
What is your Playback set to? Mine works. 10.2, Audacity

My gosh, I'm doing everything wrong today :-) . Earlier I had no
problems with getting gwenview to batch resize some images where a
couple of people couldn't do it, and now I am not having problems with
using alsa in audacity :-) .
My playback and record is set to alsa and using the Audigy 4 sound card.
All is working OK.
Ah, I just thought of something.
Do you have alsamixergui installed? If not then do so and then fiddle
with the sliders to make sure that, for example, the LINE is actually
set to something more than the default of 0 volume. I think that you
will find that this may be the problem with not getting any sound using
alsa.
Cheers.
