  Carl shouldn't he make sure that his fstab lines are all one line
beginning with "/dev/".... and ending with ...."0 0"?

e.g. (From the post as I received it)

/dev/sda1   /windows/D          ntfs       
ro,users,gid=users,umask=0002,nls=utf8 0 0

is actually all one line
