If in yast, on the 10.1 install, have you selected the option to reset any conflicts that have been set to be ignored? If there are any, maybe the 10.2 yast in the install gets confused. Just something to try. > I tried re-checking several times, to no avail. I use smart and yast together. While there must be a better way to get the resulting functionality, they are both rpm based. So dependency checking should work between them. I only wish that everyone could agree on version numbering/naming in rpms. I often wonder what method smart and yast use to determine which rpm is newer. Often yast suggest 'upgrading' to an older version, which, based on the insane version methods used by various packagers, is not sruprising. Perhaps you should rebuild your rpm database. > Did anyone observe this behavior before? > > I was tempted using smart for a distribution upgrade, but hesitate > since I can't afford sending this system to nirvana with a failed > upgrade attempt. > > I grateful for any suggestions on how I can upgrade my system!
