There is actually a 'for real' working version of a paper
clip assistant for 'vi' - done for laughs and greatly at the
expense of M$'s "clippie". It's called 'vigor' and it's
completely hilarious.
There is a version of it for 'vim' (vimgor) that you can
download from here:
