On my mother's system, she's having an issue with USB.

As far as I know, all USB ports worked fine under 9.3 (which she ran
until a few months ago). Having upgraded her system to 10.2, she
noticed an issue with USB items.

Her mouse and Keyboard are PS/2, so they never did use USB. She has
two usb ports in front and a USB printer along with one other port in
back.

The USB printer works fine - it is an HP Photosmart 8050.

In an attempt to figure how to load a SD card using her USB card
reader, I loaded usbview. However, that gave me an error:

"Can not open the file /proc/bus/usb/devices

Verify that you have USB compiled into your kernel, have the USB core
modules loaded, and have the usbdevfs filesystem mounted."

She's running kernel Linux 2.6.18.8-0.3-default i686 and has libusb
0.1.12-27, usbutils 0.72-20 and usbview 1.0.880 loaded.

I found this one item - in Italian - regarding opensuse and USB.

Thanks!

Oh, she can charge her USB palm pilot (zire 72) by usb and load
pictures from her camera just fine.
