You need to enable rotation in your xorg.conf file. AFAIK, this is not
done automatically:

Section "Device"      
    Identifier     "Device[0]"
    Driver         "nvidia"
    VendorName     "NVidia"
    BoardName      "GeForce 6200 (0x0221)"
    Option         "RandRRotation"
