Also check the specs of the MOBO and CPU to see the normal temperatures. Check /proc/acpi/thermal_zone/THRM/temperature, I'm getting 40ºC on my workstation (uptime 31 days) an 48ºC on my laptop (uptime: 7 days), i'm not sure if that optimal but at least i'm running them without problems.
