I've never done it, but a quick google for "dmraid raid51" and "dmraid raid15" showed some hits. Some of which were kernel code that implied support. FYI: As recently as June I found a discussion that showed the Redhat dmraid people were still discussing the naming convention (raid51 vs. raid15 vs. raid 1+5 vs raid 5+1), but the stacking ability has apparently been there for a long while. http://www.redhat.com/archives/ataraid-list/2007-June/msg00021.html >From my storage training, I think they recommended your create a raid 5 from a collection of raid 1s, not the other way around.
