I just did a clean install of openSUSE 10.3 on a new system. I'm on a
rather large network and I need to mount some Linux and Windows network
shares. It doesn't seem to behave like my other Redhat and SLES
systems.

I can mount a Windows share through the "My Computer"-like icon very
easily. (even though Samba isn't running!!) However, I can't make it
permanent. I need a way to make some permanent mounts (preferably from
the command line) of both smbfs (which is claims it doesn't recognize)
and reiserfs shares but I'm getting nowhere modifying /etc/fstab and
/etc/mtab.

Anyone got a howto that applies to openSUSE 10.3?

Steve
