Which means? In openSUSE there is few desktops, so which one you are using? KDE, GNOME, xfce, fvwm, twm? What is the video adapter? What kind of modem is used? There is many and some can be configured with user ID and password and than just connect modem to computer and configure network adapter. Is DSL modem connected to computer with Ethernet (network) cable, or USB? You don't give many details what you did, step by step, so that guys that have DSL can check what went wrong.
