The list of repos can be modified via starting YaST, module 'Software Repositories'. > And in the Change Log i miss the version names in the list. > > Updating Channels in Smart-Gui Package Manager is just as awkward, > and it lists different addresses: > http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/10.3/repo/oss/ > http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/10.3/repo/non-oss/ > http://download.opensuse.org/update/10.3/ > RPM System (no URL) > Is the first just an alias of the URL used in Yast ? > > What is openSUSE Updater using ? The first list. > It currently reports two security updates i don't see in Yast2. > And Yast2 just updated a few apps that Updater did not see. This is because openSUSE uses thing called 'patches'. A patch is a bugfix, and it might mean to fix several packages. Thus, applying a patch is different to updating the packages. openSUSE updater applies patches only by default. the 'Install Software' module updates the packages.
