I use opensuse 10.3 on two different computers with compiz. On one I never get the white cube. On the other I always get the white cube on a reboot. On that machine I find that I don't get the blank white cube if I delete the file /home/mikecoan/.kde/share/config/ksmserverrc On that machine I boot to runlevel 3, delete the above file, then run startx and all is fine. On my work machine, which has that same file, there is no problem. I don't really know what is going on, but thsat avoids the blank white cube for me. Mike -- Michael A.
