Windows and Mac systems do it too. > "supposed to be" is indeed the right phrase ;-( I found out on several machines that with network manager enabled i got such address, and with traditional method i was able to obtain an address from my dhcp server. Switching back to networkmanager my suse machines were no longer able to get an address from the dhcp-server.
