Yup... I guess this is a good reminder that all of us at OpenSymphony have a job (more than one in my case) or school (oh yeah, I've got that too), and of course a real life to life (friends, family will always come first). We do what we do because we feel our work can be useful to other people. We don't get paid for it. We do what we can do when we can do it. If you feel that something isn't up to par, we recommend you take a more proactive approach and help us help you. Writing bug fixes, doing tests, or providing documentation are extremely valuable and are usually things that get missed on our limited time.
So help us help you. Continue to be active and have a voice, but also realize that you too can have a profound effect on the quality of these projects. We are not a commercial enterprise and we depend on you guys to help us out as much as we help you out. Thanks for your understanding! I really do look forward to the days when active contribution from non-developers becomes the norm. -Pat ----- Original Message ----- From: "Tim Dwelle" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Friday, November 01, 2002 11:56 AM Subject: Re: [OS-webwork] Plea from a dummy > > For all the ink you spilled in complaining about the state of the > > documentation, you could have edited the pertinent parts of what you > > had read on the list into the current docs and posted them in Jira. > > Then I could merge them without spending all day checking my bad > > spellling and grammers and we could really help somebody. > > I believe this falls in the "give a man a fish" category. > > > ------------------------------------------------------- > This sf.net email is sponsored by: See the NEW Palm > Tungsten T handheld.
