It actually forwards control to the bank.transfer action and the !default tells it to execute the default command, so it will call doDefault().

    I am having difficulty in understanding the bank application given with the examples.
In the index.jsp file the following line transfers the control to transfer.jsp
        <jsp:forward page="bank.transfer!default.action"/>
pls explain in details what is happening in the background.
