If webmacro provide a webmacro servlet and if it can automatically resolve variable refrences by searching the pageContext and request scopes then it will be very easy to integrate it transparently, using a http request filter that wraps the http request, and searches the value stack.
 
I have some code that does that - it works for velocity, freemarker, and using JSTL in JSP.
