Velocity support for URL and bean and should be in CVS by the weekend. Velocity already supports Action.

Yes, present as in existing classes in c.o.w.views.jsp, but they are not working from Velocity.

A tag directive like
#tag (URL "value=/d/a.action")
results in an exception

/**
* @todo this is a placeholder for future code.
*/
protected boolean processTag(Tag tag, ...
throw new UnsupportedOperationException("processing JSP Tags is not currently supported");

---

Although these #tag directives exist and should work I think there should be an easier way of using the "URLTag" for instance. Something like this: $url.setPage("/d/a.action")

The $url helper, for example, is such an important and common used helper class one should not have to create it by using any bean tag. I have not used ww1 but I think I've read it exist something like a $webwork helper class for these things...

The issue beneath is just about these things that are in 1.3 but not in 2.0 yet. Things like bean, action, url and so on.

But the priority is only minor on that issue, so how long will it take to fix, one may wonder... ;-)

What kind of replacements? Stuff like if/then/else and iterator are built in to velocity natively. Any tag that was in 1.3 should be in 2.0 unless a VERY good reason is given -- so everyone,

Good question!
See your own JIRA issue for more stuff regarding this :-)

It's been a while since I tried playing with the ww2 tags

tags that

velocity equivalents, or are there plans for velocity macro replacements for them (like in ww1)?
