Everyone, I finally debugged and put into CVS a subproject that easily adapts WebWork 2 to work on BEA Weblogic Server 6.1.
See the wiki at: http://wiki.opensymphony.com/space/Modifying+WebWork+2+to+work+with+Weblogic+Server+6.1 This is a much cleaner mechanism, in that the subproject consists of subclasses that adapt existing WebWork 2 classes to the different requirements of Weblogic Server 6.1 without breaking the Servlet 2.3 specification.
