[OS-webwork] session scoped component missing fields

I scoped a component at the session level, and it is being preserved.  
There is one problem, though.  The component has a Set on it, and this 
Set does _not_ gets saved between requests.  Everything else will be 
ok, but that one field will be null.

Do I need to make it a component with an enabler?  I'd really rather 
not.  Any ideas?
