OK, well if the code in 2.0 isn't correct, please let me know. It's
pretty counterintuitive to keep me in the dark on changes that hurt
compatibility, especially since I just spent a great deal of my time
trying to do so.

The tag was added last week. The interface is the same as in WW2. As far
as the code is concerned I prefer code that is correct. ;-)
