Some time ago, I also came to the same conclusion that when activating velocity caching of templates, rendering is done much faster. One thing I still don't know how to solve is the following: In Dag velocity.properties example there is the line:

Is "WebRoot" some magic word for velocity/ww2 or is just an guideline so that one should put there specific path where the templates are located. If so, the problem is I don't want to have hardcoded the WebRoot path, in the configuration.
