The bean macro is a simple solution, but it does not seem like a good replacement for the Velocity Tools.
I've only briefly looked at Velocity Tools, so I'm no expert, but it provides for the initialization of tools based on scope, and also can provide initialization parameters such as the HttpServletRequest and the HttpSession to the tools. I briefly looked at how one might use this in concert with webwork2. The WebWork velocity context class has this notion of "ChainedContexts". This didn't appear terribly useful since the ChainedContext classes appeared to only be instantiated once per application. Could someone explain the theory behind how this was supposed to be used? I don't think one could directly use the Velocity Tools ToolboxContext with the ChainedContext. Skip Walker [EMAIL PROTECTED] Gossamer Group Bldg #2, Suite 410 4807 Spicewood Springs Rd. Search the mailing list archive for "velocity tool support" and you will find something about tools supports that Matt Ho created (and later on removed I think..) Use the macro #bean for a simple solution.
