[OS-webwork] is the validation interceptor slow for anyone else?

using a simple action that just returns SUCCESS, it takes 0 to 10ms to 
execute the action, but if I enable the validation interceptor for it 
its taking 140ms+ to execute, the action doesnt have any validation 
rules for it or ant visitors or anything having to do with validation, 
anyone else experiencing this slowness?
