Hi Paulo!

The only thing you need to have is Java 6 and DHCP server which will assign
IP address to the thin client. If your server is on MS platform, you can try
to use the DHCP provided by Microsoft, or if you don't have DHCP included
you can download a free version from here:
http://tftpd32.jounin.net/tftpd32.html. After you configured your DHCP
server, run the OpenThinClient server. This server only includes extension
to DHCP, not the DHCP server completely. Regarding TFTP, don't worry, it's
included in the server. So if you configured settings using OpenThinClient
Manager, at the first startup of the thin client, you will see that it
appears in the list of PXE request, after which you can convert it to thin
client and woola! At the next restart your Thin Client will boot the
OpenThinClient OS.

Regards,
Ruben

Subject: [openthinclient-user] How do I configure network boot?

Hi,

I'm testing openthinclient for a brazilian federal bank and I'm
confuse about booting process. I followed the instructions available
on project web site, but it does not describe how do I must setup my
dhcp and tftp servers to achieve network boot trough PXE. I need a
dhcp server or openthinclient includes one? What's next server and
filename that I should setup in my DHCP server? What is the tftp root
directory? I must provide a "default" file in pxelinux.cfg directory?

OpenThinClient seems to be a great solution! Congratulations!
